Torrevieja Jardin Del Mar
Jardin del Mar is an urbanisation
very near to the Habeneras shopping centre of Torrevieja.
In Jardin del Mar there are many different nationalities.
You therefore have a wonderful opportunity to meet
and mix with people from all over the world on your
door step. There is a National Health Clinic and a
private medical clinic, plenty of dentists providing
services at a fraction of the cost that you would pay
at home. The new Torrevieja Hospital is 5 minutes from
Jardin del Mar and is a revelation. Nearly all the
consultants speak English. The equipment they use is
the latest digital technology available.
Jardin del
Mar is a 5 minute drive from the town of Torrevieja.
The bust stop is a 5 minute walk. The airports of Alicante
to the north and San Javea/Murcia to the south are
a 45 minute drive. In Torrevieja there are many lovely
shops selling a variety of goods from very stylish
clothing to the latest in electrical goods and mobile
phones.. There is also a pedestrianised walkway with
bars,restaurants and cafes on one side and the sea
on the other. There are three theatres in Torrevieja and a cinema at the Habeneras. They have headphones
to translate into different languages for many films.
To the south of Jardin
del Mar are many lovely coves and beaches. To the north and
inland are the villages of San Miguel, Bigastro, Algorfa,Benijofer,
Almoradi, Dolores, Catral. Each village has its own
market day (mercadillo). They have also managed to
retain much of the Spanish flavour and culture.
The beautiful beaches of La Mata
and Guardamar are within 10 to 15 minutes drive of
Jardin del Mar. There you will find miles of unspoilt
beaches. Even on the busiest day there is always plenty
of room.
The local schools are very good and the non Spanish
children learn Spanish very quickly. There are several
language schools offering excellent tuition for adults
and within 2 years you could become quite competent
in dealing with most things.
There are many local papers printed
in many languages that are full of advertisements of
things to do. You will not have the time to be bored.
In the last few years there has
been a large growth of businesses run by many different
nationalities in and around Jardin del Mar providing
much needed services to the community. There is always
room for something else and of course they all provide
much needed employment.
